Couple of quick corrections - The actor who played Helen Shyres is named Chelan SIMMONS, not Chelan Smith, and Principal Morton did not, in fact, die in the novel. Sorry!!

Actually any would be bullies usually got scolded and just generally looked down upon. I dont know if i was in just a really good public school or what, but i never got the whole bullying thing. Ive never been bullied and never saw anyone else go through it.

  • I am so mad at Carrie's mother. She genuinely cared for Carrie, in her weird, overly forceful ways and at the end, she probably had her best chance to help Carrie, be a good Christian and a good mother by comforting her child and stuff. NAH, F*** that, time to drown her.

  • Things about this movie I will never understand: 1. The layout of the showers. Tina exits her stall from the side opposite the door. She exits through the metaphorical 4th wall. 2. How were the girls able to look over the tops of the stalls? Were they just really short walls? 3. How did the girls get into Carrie’s locker to fill it with tampons (and where did they get that many?!)? 3. What did Norma mean when she told Detective Mulcahey that Carrie was “a Plath?”

I'm thinking it would have been something about Carrie and Sue traveling around, getting into Incredible Hulk-type plots while Carrie learns to control her powers. Would want to pop into that alternate universe and pick the series up on LaserDisc.

I'll have to wait until I see it again, I guess. I like the ending, but yeah, I couldn't see it becoming a television series. If they won't do that for Star Wars, I would hate to see Carrie get the honor.
